Joint Venture is a Nigerian hip hop duo consisting of rappers; MHP (Samuel Abu) and Rapsom’ (Atta Anago), both also members of the rap group, SoulJazz. The Joint Venture discography consist of a 13 track extended play called the Ghost of ’94, released independently in 2012 by Tympanic Studios. The album focuses on the hardcore sounds and the boombap rhythm of the mid 90’s; with all tracks produced by Rapsom, and special guest appearances from Rhyme Master Richy. Joint Venture, the Ghost of ’94 received generally positive reviews from hip-hop critics and an acceptance from the Nigerian underground hip-hop community. MHP’s smooth confident style of rhyming combined with the dark orchestration of Rapsom’ makes the duo a phenomenal force to reckon with in the Underground African Hip-hop scene.
